Franc Vila Launches the Intrepido Diver Superlight

We at DiveIntoWatches.com recently discovered another new dive watch for 2015 that we somehow didn’t catch when we were in Baselworld. The Franc Vila Intrepido Diver Superligero (Ref. FVi62) is the indie brand’s first attempt at creating a model with a divers’ bezel.  The watch comes with a titanium case offering 300 meters of water resistance, an integrated helium release valve, a display back and a black rubber strap with folding clasp. Both color versions (with blue or red highlights, pictured below) are available with a black DLC or regular brushed finish, and each is limited to 88 pieces.

The rotating bezel appears to be operated by a separate crown at 4 o’clock (although it looks like it could be operated manually as well, replicas de relojes since it is only partially covered by the case) and can be blocked with the locking mechanism at 8 o’clock. Surprisingly, the hands seem to be made of a transparent material.

The Franc Vila Intrepido Diver Superligero is powered by the brand’s FV62 caliber with power reserve display and (judging by these first released press images) also features a big date display at 12 o’clock; list prices are $15,000 for the standard titanium versions and $16,500 for the DLC versions.

Mondaine Stop2Go Swiss Railways Watch – Generation 2

Virtually all of the watches Mondaine produces are visually inspired by the famous clocks that can be found throughout Switzerland’s railway stations, although the Stop2Go model holds a special place in the Swiss brand’s catalog, as it is the only one that actually emulates the unique motion of the clocks’ hands. With that in mind, although Mondaine has been producing wristwatches with this same core design since 1986, the Stop2Go is a more recent addition, with the very first execution appearing only slightly more than a decade ago in 2013. As one of its most noteworthy new releases of 2023, Mondaine announced the return of the quirky yet charming Stop2Go, and one of the major updates to accompany this second generation of the model is that its crown has been entirely eliminated in order to provide the watch with a round profile that more closely mirrors the appearance of the famous Swiss railway clocks.
