DOXA SUB 200 Whitepearl

The new SUB 200 Whitepearl by DOXA is perfectly timed for Summer, a timepiece that is "refreshing" both for its trendy whitepearl tone and for its versatility.

After our introductory article (you can read it here), we are now able to share more pictures and details.

The Whitepearl is the seventh colour chosen by DOXA for its SUB 200 diving watch and joins the Orange repliki zegarków, Silver, Black, Blue, Yellow and Turquoise ones.

The watch comes in a 42 mm case crafted from 316L stainless steel, a steel that offers excellent resistance to corrosion. When you handle it, and even more when you wear it, you have the impression that the watch is smaller than 42 mm in diameter thanks to the short lugs and their original shape. The overall thickness, including the domed ‘glass box’ anti-reflective sapphire crystal, is 14 mm.

The unidirectional rotating bezel features a sapphire insert that is not only beautiful to see but also scratch-proof.

The three-hand plus date dial offers excellent readability, in any light conditions, thanks to large baton-type hour and minute hands and applied hour-markers generously treated with a white Super-LumiNova luminescent coating that glow in blue.

The screw-down crown is decorated with the "DOXA fish" symbol in back and, together with the screw-in solid case back, it helps ensuring water resistance up to a pressure of 20 bar (approximately 200 metres / 650 feet). In position 0 the crown is tightly screwed down against the case. By unscrewing it, you can wind the watch in position 1 and set the time of the day in position 2.

The case back is beautifully engraved with the recurring "DOXA fish" symbol that remarks the special link of the brand with the sea world.

Inside, we find the Swiss automatic ETA 2824-2 mechanical calibre that guarantees precision and reliability beating at the frequency of  4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) with an autonomy of 38 hours.

For our review we used the SUB 200 Whitepearl with a white strap made of FMK rubber (also known as fluoro rubber) which offers a wide range of excellent properties including resistance to chemical agents, temperature variations, and deformations. It is secured to the wrist by a tank buckle with the "DOXA fish" symbol and offers excellent wearability. The lug width is 19 mm.

Two rubber strap sizes are available - small (110, 65) and standard (125, 75) - for optimal wearability on both men's and women's wrists.

Of course, the model is also available with its signature “beads of rice" bracelet crafted from 316L stainless steel and equipped with a folding clasp zegarki repliki.

Offering excellent performances from a true specialist in diving watches, the DOXA SUB 200 Whitepearl combines an appealing look with a truly excellent price/quality ratio retailing at CHF 950 with rubber strap (ref. 799.15.011.23 with small strap or ref. 799.10.011.23 with standard one) or CHF 990 with steel bracelet (ref. 799.10.011.10).

Mondaine Stop2Go Swiss Railways Watch – Generation 2

Virtually all of the watches Mondaine produces are visually inspired by the famous clocks that can be found throughout Switzerland’s railway stations, although the Stop2Go model holds a special place in the Swiss brand’s catalog, as it is the only one that actually emulates the unique motion of the clocks’ hands. With that in mind, although Mondaine has been producing wristwatches with this same core design since 1986, the Stop2Go is a more recent addition, with the very first execution appearing only slightly more than a decade ago in 2013. As one of its most noteworthy new releases of 2023, Mondaine announced the return of the quirky yet charming Stop2Go, and one of the major updates to accompany this second generation of the model is that its crown has been entirely eliminated in order to provide the watch with a round profile that more closely mirrors the appearance of the famous Swiss railway clocks.
