Chopard - Alpine Eagle XL Chrono

 Chopard’s Alpine Eagle collection is enriched by the Alpine Eagle XL Chrono, a new chronograph featuring a bi-material extra-large 44 mm x 13.15 mm case crafted in rose gold and ceramised titanium.


Sourced from an ethical supply chain, the 18-carat rose gold is here matched to light and ultra-resistant ceramised titanium, a metal obtained through a process of titanium oxidation using electro-plasma technology – a treatment that gives it a hardness of 1000 Vickers and a resistance to shocks and scratches comparable to that of ceramics. Developed in the aerospace and automotive industries, it has a special anthracite grey colour that does not fade over time.


The round case has stylised flanks, a bezel with eight functional indexed screws and a crown engraved with a compass rose.''


The intense black dial retains a radiant pattern evoking the eagle's iris, a distinctive feature of this line. Black counters for the 30-minute,replica watches small seconds and 12-hour indications are positioned at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock, respectively.


To improve legibility, red inlays punctuate the hands linked to the chronograph function as well as the 100, 160 and 240 graduations on the tachymeter scale. The baton-type hours and minutes hands, just like the applied numerals and hour markers, are treated with Grade X1 Super-LumiNova.


The watch is driven by the Chopard 03.05-C column-wheel flyback-chronograph calibre, showcased through the sapphire crystal caseback.


Comprised of 310 parts and beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), this self-winding movement is certified as a precision chronometer by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). Equipped with a central rotor in 22-carat rose gold, it guarantees a 60-hour power reserve.


The Alpine Eagle XL Chrono is the collection’s first series-produced timepiece with a black calf leather strap instead of the signature metal bracelet. The red bridle stitching echoes the chronograph function indications on the dial.
