Seiko Prospex Speedtimer Solar Chronograph Watches For Budapest World Athletics Championship

Four new solar chronographs join the Seiko Prospex collection marking the company’s association with the World Athletics Championships to be held in Budapest, Hungary, in August, 2023. Officially called the Seiko Prospex Speedtimer Solar Chronograph, all four watches sport a new movement with the Seiko Caliber 8A50, a 1/100-second chronograph with a +/- 15-seconds per month precision rating. The Seiko Prospex Speedtimer Solar Chronograph watch is 42mm-wide, 12.9mm-thick, and its lug-to-lug distance is 48.3mm, making it reasonably thick for a highly functional chronograph and proportionate to the 42mm diameter. All offer 100 meters of water resistance and 4,800 A/m magnetic resistance for peace of mind. All four watches have the same case and bracelet design but in different executions and, in true Seiko style, ever-so-slightly different prices and naming schemes. Tudor Replica Black Bay GMT Watch Review

after Baselworld 2017 rolled around I think I had officially given up on Tudor, at least as a consumer interested in seriously voting with my dollar and adding one of their products to my collection. By then, every possible ounce of creativity and variety had been squeezed out of the Black Bay line and to me, it seemed like an attempt by Tudor to simply shoehorn as many dissonant design variations as possible into the collection. Something has to stick, replica rolex right? I don’t know how many Black Bays are currently offered, or how many sizes and materials are available, and I don’t really care to look it up – because it doesn’t matter and it’s immensely overwhelming. It’s a classic case of decision paralysis for many potential customers and nothing really stands out to me. This is the part where I tell you that the Tudor Black Bay GMT changed everything for me, and it did. About a week or two before Basel each year, social media, forums, and the rest of the collective watch ...

Maurice de Mauriac Grand Coeur Chronograph Watch

the latest new wristwatch creation from Zurich-based Maurice de Mauriac is the Chrono Modern Skeleton “Grand Coeur” (big heart). The Grand Coeur is among the most expensive watches ever produced by the boutique watchmaker — and that reflects the uncommon style of the chronograph movement used in the watch. replicas tag heuer It also represents the first watch released by Maurice de Mauriac after the brand’s founder (the affable and warm Daniel Dreifuss) steps aside after assigning leadership responsibilities to his two sons (perhaps the daughter will have a role in the future). Massimo and Leo Dreifuss grew up around watches and now face the stark reality of having to run a company that doesn’t match the industry that existed when their father started the first. The luxury Swiss watch industry today presents smaller, independent brands with novel marketing challenges and competition from fresh arenas. What hasn’t changed about vending luxury timepieces for Maurice de Mauriac is t...

Hands-on with ZRC Grands Fonds 300

First, the bad news: it doesn’t look like French brand ZRC is planning to sell its recently introduced re-edition of the Grands Fonds 300 outside of France, which might result in your having to find a retailer willing to contact ZRC directly, or planning a trip to France, if you are interested in getting one. The good news (I guess) is that this might save you quite a bit of money, rolex replica since the more desirable W510013 model, with the large set of hands, retails for 3,390 euros. However, if you’re still determined to lay out the cash and jump through the logistical hoops to acquire this timepiece, which is understandable considering the final product, here is — as promised in last week’s Dive Watch Wednesday — what you need to know about this rather unique looking diver from the past with the crown positioned a 6 o’clock: First of all, the new Grand Fonds is extremely close in its design to the original, which was introduced in the 1960s and served as a watch for the Fre...

10 Classic Chronograph Movements

A while back, I wrote an article on my top 5 iconic chronograph watches. Some of you readers wondered why Zenith wasn’t in there. Quite simply, it didn’t make my personal Top 5. However, I do love the Zenith El Primero movement, and think that its reputation as a great chronograph caliber is well-earned. So, to make it up for some of you fellow watch nerds out there, here I focus specifically on chronograph movements rather than watches. One of my late, watch-loving friends had a special appreciation for chronographs and even ended all his e-mails with, “Chronographs, replicas breitling like most finer things in life, only improve with time.” If you want to know more about chronograph movements, and certain specific calibers, from a collector’s point of view, I recommend you read the interview I did with him several years ago (click here). Although it does not include the latest chronograph movements, it is still a useful article covering many important aspects of chronographs. A...
