Hello and welcome to watches of the week, where I’ll be looking at some beautiful watches worn by some very famous and stylish men. This week we have Anthony Joshua preparing for the big fight wearing one of his heavyweight favourites; Michael B Jordan flexing his wristwear chops alongside his biceps, and a breakdown of the handshake – and the watches – that set the Barclays Premier League ABLAZE.
While Michael B Jordan’s sleeveless henley knit mesh… situation might have drawn the most eyes during his red carpet walk for Amazon’s big-budget Lord of the Rings spinoff, his wrist is where the real action is happening. One of the world’s thinnest automatic watches at just over 5mm thick, Piaget’s Altiplano Ultimate Automatic is a thinking man’s statement watch,o-fake with an 18k white gold case set with 90 diamonds and a highly intricate visible movement framing an off-centre hours and minute display. It's £35,400, and did we mention how thin it is?
The Top Gun: Maverick breakout star with a big ol’ Hollywood smile, Danny Ramirez rocked up to the premiere for Look Both Ways alongside Lili Reinhart looking quite the leading man in skinny YSL and an IWC legend on his wrist. The story goes that, back in the '30s, two Portuguese merchants were after a wristwatch with the precision of a pocket watch. They had a chat with the good people at IWC, who rustled up Portuguiser, with a large, clear face. The merchants were happy, and so are we seeing this beauty on the red carpet nearly a century down the line.
It takes a very cool and stylish man to be able to pull off dark mustard tailoring, but the actor Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù went Dijon with ease at the premiere of the Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon. The tailoring might have been daring, but Dìrísù's watch was the height of tasteful versatility. A Longines Master with a crisp white face, black leather strap and a well-rounded 40mm stainless steel face. A premiere watch and a daily driver. Also, side point, but is HotD going to send Matt Smith to GoT's Kit Harington-level fame?
Who else is excited for the finale season of Top Boy? While he waits to unleash the fate of Dushane and co on our Netflix queues, Walters is doing the smoulder on the red carpet rounds. If you’re going to keep things simple in a gun-hugging t-shirt and dark denim, there’s no better, or more versatile, watch than a stainless steel Submariner Date with a black face. A watch for diving to the bottom of the sea and for flexing for the fans.
The handshake that reverberated around the world. Conte vs Tuchel; North vs West; white hot Italian fury vs lanky German pragmatism. Should Conte have looked Tuchel in the eye? Who would win in a fight? Was Richarlison impeding Mendy’s vision? Is Anthony Taylor part of a global cabal of referees who just loathe Chelsea? While the scenes at full-time might have taken an ugly turn, the wrists of the managers were anything but, with Mr Tuchel opting for a crisp titanium iteration of Hublot’s Classic Fusion line, while Signore Conte chose to tool up in a Rolex Submariner that is waterproof to 300m… which should just about cover the depth of those Chelsea tears.
On the cusp of a much-hyped rematch on the Red Sea against the big bruising Ukrainian, Oleksandr Usyk, AJ sticks with one of his favourites while doing the ‘put your hands up like you’re about to do some boxing’ media rounds. In a pugilist-appropriate 42mm, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore is one of the luxury watch world’s pioneering sport models (it costs £29,900), enhancing its legendary diving helmet-inspired face with a sturdy build and signature push-piece guards. A powerful sports watch for a powerful sportsman, AJ loves AP. Nice green rubber strap, too.
Finishing off a tastefully directional all-black outfit with a proper bit of performance watchmaking, John Boyega walked out of a NYC building wearing the ‘Black Magic’ Hublot Classic Fusion. A whopping 45mm diameter with a light and (as is the Hublot way) technically advanced ceramic case with a matching ceramic bracelet. The murdered out epitome of Swiss watchmaking. For more details, please visit:fake-rolex.de erfahrungen
