Despite making its inaugural appearance just a few years ago in 2020, the H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner collection has already become one of the brand’s most famous and recognizable designs. While the series has featured heavy-hitter complications such as a perpetual calendar, flyback chronograph, and even a tourbillon, the Streamliner Centre Seconds is the most simple and straightforward iteration that takes that collection’s signature retro-space-age aesthetic and presents it in a classic, three-handed format. As its latest release for 2023, H. Moser & Cie. has created a new version of its fan-favorite integrated bracelet sports watch and the new H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Centre Seconds Smoked Salmon takes the core design of the inaugural time-only Streamliner model but swaps out its green dial for a salmon-colored one with a radial fumé finish.

Aside from its novel dial, the new H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Centre Seconds Smoked Salmon (ref. 6200-1207) is the same watch as the previous version fitted with the “Matrix Green” dial that was originally launched in 2020. This means you get the same stainless steel cushion-shaped case that measures 40mm in diameter by 10.3mm-thick,replica watches with a gently domed sapphire crystal fitted to the top that brings its overall height up to 12.1mm. Similarly, just like the original time-only model, a screw-on display caseback is fitted to the reverse side of the watch, while a signed crown sits at the 3 o’clock location and screws down to the case to help create 120 meters of water resistance. Additionally, just like all Moser Streamliner models, the new Centre Seconds Smoked Salmon edition features the collection’s signature integrated bracelet that offers an almost biomorphic design with largely brushed surfaces and contrasting polished highlights.
Although the original Matrix Green version of the Streamliner Centre Seconds is no longer available, the new Smoked Salmon model can more-or-less be seen as its replacement; however, it has been explicitly stated that the new watch will only be available for a single year. For the most part, the overall design and layout of the dial on the new H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Centre Seconds Smoked Salmon is virtually identical to what can be found on the previous Matrix Green version, although its surface now appears in a smokey copper color that darkens to almost black at the outer edge along the minute track. Additionally, since the Streamliner Centre Seconds Smoked Salmon will only be produced for one year, the dial surface also features a subtle vertical line “griffé” finish, which Moser exclusively reserves for special edition models.
Moser & Cie. is famous for being a fan of text-free dials, and the new Smoked Salmon edition is even less text-heavy than the already text-minimalist Matrix Green version. Rather than being printed on the dial at all, the subtle “H. Moser & Cie.” logo now appears in clear lacquer below the 12 o’clock marker, while the rest of the dial still remains completely devoid of any text, including the omission of the “Swiss Made” marking that would normally be found below the 6 o’clock marker on most other brand’s watches. Just like the dial, the design of the hands has also been directly carried over from the previous Matrix Green version of the Streamliner Centre Seconds watch, and the hour and minute hands feature the same three-dimensional structure, with their metal frames holding the large Globolight luminous ceramic inserts to create a rounded syringe-shaped profile.
Despite the fact that copper (or “salmon”) is a highly traditional watch dial color, salmon dials have been having a bit of a moment over the last several years, although the color itself can ultimately be presented in a wide variety of different hues and finishes. Compared to the bright copper/rose gold color of some salmon-colored dials, the Streamliner Centre Seconds Smoked Salmon has a dial that offers a noticeably darker and more muted overall profile. Additionally, for those who may take issue with Moser calling this color “salmon” due to its slightly darker appearance, H. Moser & Cie. CEO Edouard Meylan (who is also a “seasoned fly fisher” as noted by the official press release) has a slightly hilarious and truly on-brand Moser response:
“There is salmon and there is salmon. Our inspiration does not come from the traditional Atlantic salmon, or ‘Salmo salar’ to give it its Latin name, but from its very rare cousin, the ‘Oncorhynchus kisutch.’ Allowed to mature in total freedom and massaged each day by specialists using an oil infused with aromatic herbs picked from the slopes of the Himalayas,rolex replica this species only eats crustaceans that have been pre-digested by pink flamingos. All aromatic herb-oil massages, pink flamingos, and Scottish whisky associations aside, the dark muted color of the dial does look quite nice paired with the Streamliner collection’s retro-futuristic aesthetic, and the decision to print the “H. Moser & Cie.” logo in clear lacquer helps to create an ultra-clean and perfectly symmetrical appearance. Lastly, just like the previous Matrix Green version, the new H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Centre Seconds Smoked Salmon is powered by the brand’s HMC 200 automatic movement, which runs at a rate of 21,600vph (3 Hz) with a 3-day power reserve. Designed, developed, and produced entirely in-house, the Cal. HMC 200 features a hairspring manufactured by Precision Engineering AG (the sister company of Moser), and it is fitted with a solid 18k gold oscillating weight that is engraved with the brand’s hallmark.
Given that the new Smoked Salmon edition is essentially just a dial update to the previous time-only model, the new watch costs the same as its Matrix Green sibling, and the H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Centre Seconds Smoked Salmon ref. 6200-1207 is accompanied by an official retail price of $21,900 USD. Additionally, while the new model is not a limited edition where production will be capped at a specific number of examples, Moser has explicitly stated that the new Smoked Salmon variant is a “special edition” that will only be available for one year. As the most simple and straightforward watch from the greater Streamliner lineup, the Centre Seconds represents the point of entry into Moser’s sports watch collection, and since it is almost half the price of the next least expensive Streamliner model, this new Smoked Salmon variant will likely be quite popular among collectors.
